Over the past 5 years, companies all over Australia have been moving towards hiring veterans. They see the benefit a veteran can bring to their company or organisation?
Defence Force personnel lead a very disciplined, mission focused, dynamic lifestyle. From the moment they join the Defence Force they become part of a team and are taught the importance of teamwork, initiative, respect, and leadership. Their decision-making skills and leadership techniques are constantly tested, and they understand how to lead teams.
As the war in Afghanistan and Iraq wind down, we are seeing many leaders leave the Defence Force to pursue careers in the civilian sector. The construction industry offers veterans a similar lifestyle they are accustomed to.
We also aim to direct a percentage of VC profits in to the veteran community by supporting clubs and other charities.

"Level crossing project veterans partnership deemed a success"
Taken from RailExpress.com.au
After one year, the partnership between an Australian veterans group and the Level Crossing Removal project in Melbourne’s south-east has helped a dozen ex-military personnel transition to civilian life.
Veterans in Construction – inspired by the Helmets to Hard Hats program in the United States – was co-founded in 2015 by David Cook and Dan Cairns to provide advice, mentoring, support, and connections for Australian veterans looking to get into construction work.
